Restart your computer, open Word, and look for the EndNote plug-in along the top. Click the Download Windows link and follow the instructions from the EndNote Plug-Ins Installer. Log on to EndNote in a Web browser, and then click the Format tab. Installing the Cite While You Write Plug-in for Windows Open Word and look for the EndNote plug-in along the top. You may install both EndNote Click for browser and CWYW for Word features or one or the other. The default setting on the lab computers is to link to EndNote Desktop. If you are using a computer in an PC lab on campus CWYW will have already be installed. In the Installer window, you can select which features to install on your hard drive. Log into your EndNote account Select 'Format' Select 'Cite while you Write plug-in' Read the installation instructions and the system requirements Select the Windows or Mac version. in the EndNote Cite While You Write Installer window, double-click the icon labeled Install Cite While You Write and follow the instructions from the Installer. Double-click the Cite While You Write.dmg file. To begin using Cite While You Write, click on the 'EndNote' tab in your MS Word toolbar to open a connection to your library.Click on 'Find Citations' and search.Once you have located the reference you would like to use, highlight the reference and select 'Insert'. 
Click the Download Macintosh link to download the Cite While You Write disk image. Log on to EndNote in a Web browser, and then click the Format tab. Installing the Cite While You Write Plug-in for Macintosh 
Use the EndNote plug-in to insert references, and format citations and bibliographies automatically while you write your papers in Word. In order for EndNote Web to work with Microsoft Word, you must download the Cite While You Write plug-in.
